Abstract
In the Spring of 2024, a Pepperdine introduction to digital humanities class began crafting this website. This five month process included the coding and design of the site, photographing and transcription of antiphonal pages, and researching the origins of the antiphonal. They made the antiphonal more accessible to a wider audience, and laid the foundation for the 2025 digital humanities class.
The Spring of 2025 class broke into three groups to expand the website: The Text Team, Design Team, and Essay Team. The Text Team created more semi-diplomatic translations of pages in the antiphonal and wrote the descriptions of each page. They also contributed a master Antiphonal checklist and an Antiphonal Alphabet. The Design Team orchestrated the uploading of all the information including videos of the Antiphonal and an audio recording of the sound of an Antiphonal page flipping. They created an Exhibit.so link to provide a different way of looking at the Antiphonal, with zoom features, clearer pictures, and succinct notes on the side. The Essay Team researched questions which were asked as a group and formed essays for the website.
Both classes have been met with unexpected and enlightening information.
