Abstract
Allegories of Our Youth was the culmination of an 8-month international collaboration between Pepperdine Theatre, Mexican theatre company Tijuana Hace Teatro, and Israeli theatre artist Yuval Maoz. Created and directed by Natalia Escobedo for her senior thesis, the project shed light on the vital role that young people play in their respective countries. Allegories of Our Youth is an exploration of identity and purpose through unique performance styles such as theatre, dance, and music. The piece invites the audience to uncover the universality of fighting for a better future.
