Abstract

The sandy beaches present an interesting challenge for conservation ecology. They are adversely impacted by human beings and support a variety of species but nevertheless lack a real presence in public eye as a priority for preservation. I will explore some of the lessons learned in writing educational materials on this habitat for the upcoming website for the All Ashore project. I will address the ways human development and maintenance of the beaches are affecting coastal ecology.
