Abstract

"For our research presentation we would like to show our 3-5 minute films,
about local restaurant owner, Daniel Forge of the Beau Rivage.

We recorded an interview with Daniel documenting his experience
escaping the Nazis in France, coming to America, and becoming a chef.
We filmed in and around his beachside restaurant, Le Beau Rivage
(which is now called Malibu Roadhouse). Daniel and his wife donated
the restaurant to Pepperdine and now permanently underwrite the fall
musical for the theater department.

Our presentation will compare and contrast the film editing process,
demonstrating how the same material can result in radically different final films.
Attendees will see how subtle differences in quotations, photographs, angles,
and music can create distinct results.
