Description
This species of yak resides only in China-Tibet and it is of great medicinal value. Almost every part of yak can be processed and made into medicine. From this fact stems a China-Tibetan proverb: “yaks’ bodies are full of treasures”. This China-Tibetan Yak rested in a location over 4,000 meters above sea level. Because of the extreme altitude, trees rarely survive and most part the mountains do not have any vegetation. Note: This photo won Honorable Mention in the Global Tides photo contest.
