Description
Preaching does more than impart knowledge; it forms both those who preach and those who listen—an admission especially relevant in traditions where sermons are often understood as “lessons.” In a cultural landscape where societal scaffolding no longer supports Christian faith, congregational leaders must carefully attend to the ways preaching is forming the believers in their care. This session explores Christian moral formation at the nexus of preacher, church, and wider world. Contributors envision the sermon as an agent of formation and suggest practical ways of preaching for moral formation.
