Julia Domna was born to a family of priestly rulers of the cult of El-Gabal at Emesa (modern Homs). This type is dated of 527 (ZΚΦ) or 528 (HΚΦ) based on the Seleucid calendar starting in BC 312, thus during Caracalla's reign as sole emperor.
