The Scholarship Without Borders Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. In alignment with the mission of Pepperdine University
and the affirmation that "truth, having nothing to fear from investigation, should be pursued relentlessly in every discipline," SWBJ emphasizes integrity, transparency, and respect throughout the publication process.
Author Responsibilities
Originality: Authors must submit original work and properly cite all sources. Plagiarism in any form is grounds for rejection or retraction.
Disclosure: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission.
Corrections: Authors are expected to promptly inform the editorial team of significant errors or inaccuracies discovered after publication.
Editorial Responsibilities:
Impartiality: Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and relevance to the journal’s mission, without regard to race, gender, institutional affiliation, or personal characteristics.
Confidentiality: Editors must treat submitted manuscripts as confidential and must not use information for personal gain.
Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling any submission in which they have a competing interest.
Reviewer Responsibilities:
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all materials as confidential and not share or use them outside the review process.
Constructive Feedback: Reviews must be objective, respectful, and focused on improving the quality of the work.
Disclosure: Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline to review when appropriate.
