Mission
The Pepperdine Beacon is an editorially independent student-led media and news organization committed to preserving and promoting the values and mission of the university set forth in George Pepperdine’s 1937 Dedicatory Address and the University’s Affirmation Statement.
Vision
We bring students, faculty, and alumni from each of Pepperdine’s schools together in conversation rooted in the university mission and values. As with the university, the editorial stance of the student Editorial Board is necessarily informed by Christian thought. We aim to fairly seek “truth without fear” in all mediums published. We facilitate bold and vigorous debate through unbiased news coverage, mission-aligned staff editorials, and through viewpoint diversity expressed through thoughtful opinions.
