Beginning as the Thomas F. Staley Lecture in 1981, the Frank Pack Lecture continues the annual tradition of bringing to campus a distinguished Christian scholar from outside the Churches of Christ. The lecture is named in honor of Frank Pack (1916-1998), who served for sixty years as a preacher in Churches of Christ and for more than forty-five years as a distinguished professor of biblical studies in three colleges related to Churches of Christ, including Pepperdine University.
The featured speaker for the nineteenth annual Franck Pack Distinguished Christian Scholar Lecture is Dr. Nijay K. Gupta, Professor of New Testament at Northern Seminary in the Chicago area. Dr. Gupta has published over a dozen books, including the best-selling and award-winning Tell Her Story: How Women Led, Taught, and Ministered in the Early Church. Dr. Gupta will give the lecture on March 6, 2024 at 7 PM in Stauffer Chapel at Pepperdine University.
