About the Artist
Candice Leanne Lin was born in Calabasas, California. The environment truly influenced her field of work especially when it comes to oil painting. Even though Candice enjoys using all mediums to create works of art, she deeply loves the challenges and process involved when creating with oil paint. Candice was blessed to discover her passion for art in 2006 after taking a general education art course. Although Candice was hesitant at first to take weekend courses at the Art Center College of Design in 2007, she quickly began to discover her love and passion for art that inspired her to major in Fine Arts. At Pepperdine, Candice was able to explore a broad range of creative mediums such as sculpture, mixed media, watercolor, and photography. Candice focuses on the figure due to her interest in the anatomical features and differences with body types in men and women. Candice seeks to find the beauty in the ordinary. What people may discern in Candice’s work is that it is not always consistent from the previous. She likes to experiment with different stylistic approaches to art. Candice’s creations have been shown at Pepperdine’s Arthropology 2010, Art Haul 2012, the Ahimsa Festival, and WeARTaware benefit fundraisers. Currently, Candice is seeking opportunities in creative advertising to one day achieve her goal to become a creative/art director.
