Description
The Tangible Good of a Life of Service This session will consist of a fireside-style discussion between Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Barrye Price and Dr. J. Goosby Smith, two nationally recognized leaders in education, ministry, and service. Price, a 31-year veteran of the US Army, was the first African-American to obtain a doctorate from the Department of History in the 140-year history of Texas A&M University. Price is the President and CEO of CADCA, a leading international non-profit organization for drug prevention. Smith is the inaugural Vice President for Community Belonging at Pepperdine University, holding degrees in computer science and organizational behavior, and is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Price and Smith will share insights into the tangible good of the Christian life and ministry, and how their faith has shaped their leadership and service.
