John F. Wilson, Professor of Religion, Emeritus at Pepperdine University, will be honored at a luncheon on Thursday, June 4. At this luncheon, Wilson will offer reflections on his esteemed career in Christian higher education and present the Abraham J. Malherbe Lecture, an endowed lecture that annually highlights scholars in biblical studies and theology. Wilson is a noted field archaeologist specializing in the relationship between archaeology and Christianity. He served as a campus minister and professor at Missouri State University, then as Dean of Pepperdine’s Seaver College for 15 years. Wilson earned his PhD in New Testament and Ancient History from the University of Iowa and has led archaeological programs in Israel for over two decades. He is the author of several books and many published articles. Availability is limited; on-site registration will not be available.
